"The Artwork of Adam Blalock" – First Friday Reception
Dec 6th
In December 2024, the Liberty Gallery features local Spokane artist Adam Blalock. As a youth, Adam explored the creeks and forests near his home along Latah Creek. He was voted "most artistic" in high school, but became intrigued with plant growth and development, which led to pursuing plant science degrees in college. His life changed and his enthusiasm for art reinvigorated after a trip to England and a walk through an old arboretum.
Adam’s preferred subject matter is landscapes. He paints the long views at times when the lighting is the most luminous, capturing the bright glow and deep shadows of mornings and evenings. He invites one to enter his paintings, feel the cool of the shadows, squint at the setting sun, and bask in the sultry heat of a summer day. His art is truly an appreciation of the natural world in all its innocent glory.
Stop by the gallery in the Historic Liberty Building for the First Friday Reception on Dec 6th ~ you can meet the artist from 5-8:30 pm.
