88th Annual Greek Food Fest

Sep 19th to Sep 21st

11am to 8pm

A Taste of Greece in Spokane! The Holy Trinity Greek Orthodox Church, on Washington Street in Spokane, welcomes members of Spokane and surrounding communities to celebrate over 88 years of authentic Greek food, music, dancing, culture, and parea (Greek for “a joyfully connected group of friends” or “tribe”).

“Every year I am blown away by the support and generosity of the Spokane community,” says Rev. Fr. Daniel Triant, head priest at Holy Trinity. “We are honored to serve you in this way, and we hope you will always delight in the warmth and hospitality that are the pillars of our culture.”

Food and hospitality are indeed highly valued in Greek heritage, and this year’s menu includes plenty of Greek Fest staples, like stuffed-to-the-brim gyros, dripping-with-honey loukoumades (Greek fried dough balls) and fresh, baked-by-hand baklava. This year will also feature a NEW food item: pastitsio, a hearty dish of ground beef and pasta.

“Our numbers continue to grow every year,” Rev. Fr. Daniel continues. “I can’t put into words what it means for our parish to be able to share our deep faith and cultural roots with the Spokane community, whether you’ve been joining us for decades or it’s your first time experiencing this time-honored tradition. To show our appreciation and give back, we’re donating a portion of this year’s festival proceeds to two local charities: Thrive International and Caritas Outreach Ministries.”

Our beloved dance group, the Opa Dancers, continues to grow and this year we will feature brand new costumes from Greece. Increased seating in our courtyard means everyone will get a chance to sit, relax, and, if so inspired, get up and join us!

The Holy Trinity Greek Food Festival—the longest running in the country—will take place at 1703 North Washington St in Spokane from 11:00a.m. to 8:00p.m. Thursday, September 28, to Saturday, September 30. In-person church tours will be at 12:30p.m., 4:00p.m., and 6:00p.m. daily. It appeals especially to families, college students, those curious about Greek Orthodox customs, foodies, etc. All forms of payment are accepted.
